To allay Bob's fears the discussion will start with a leettr from a friend discussing various CEO candidates. The kids will make a decision based on the information in the leettr, which will lead to a discussion of making good decisions based on facts. We'll discuss the difference between ignorant, stupid, and gullible.I will then present conservative viewpoints (since I gather most if not all of them come from liberal or Democrat households) that they probably have not been exposed to. From there, we'll discuss good/bad information sources; e.g., is your information a Twitter from Beyonce or a journalist? I will make it very clear that I am not judging their decisions or opinions, but I don't want them to grow up stupid, either. By then, either my voice or class time will have expired.PS: The parents will be in a meeting with the archdiocesan representatives for Angela House, which they want to put on our campus, and which is being highly resisted. While I'm all for the Angela House mission, to take women convicts and help them change their lives, I'm not so sure that putting it right next to 3 schools in a residential area is the best placement. I'm hopeful the parents have some critical thinking skills, but given what I've seen of their kids .
